This video demonstrates the biggest keys to remember on the slice backhand. First, you’ve got to turn your shoulders. As soon as you know you’re going to hit a slice backhand, you want to turn so the back side of your shoulder is facing the net. As you go to hit the ball, you want to be able to step in and transfer your weight. By turning your shoulder, you will have your paddle back and from there you’ll want to move your shoulder and the bottom edge of your paddle out to the target. The problem most players have is that they open up and their body is facing forward. When you finish your shot, you’re going to be completely sideways.
